Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Business Developer (FLSA Status: Non-Exempt) is an essential part of the U.S. Lawns team. In this role you will be actively prospecting for new commercial customers primarily in person (door to door). Primary focus is creating rapport, credibility and building trust based relationships with key decision makers, which will lead to opportunities for you to be able to present a proposal for landscape management services.
Major Job Responsibilities

- Working with prospective customers to discover their “points of pain” and develop solutions
- Build and maintain trust-based professional relationships with key decision makers
- Work at a fast pace environment while operating with a high sense of urgency

- Work well with the operations team members, leveraging their expertise with yours. Collaboratively work with owner to build a book of business

iRRIGATION Technician FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
A person who is supervised by or is a licensed irrigator per local ordinances to service, modify ad/or install irrigation systems
Major Job Responsibilities
Client Management
- Professionally represents U.S. Lawns at all times.
- Able to respond properly to the client and follow up to make sure their needs have been completed to their satisfaction.
- Keeps the Owner/Manager aware of all client concerns and communication on the job site.
- Maintains positive, responsive and flexible attitude to all clients.
- Inspects site and advises client of potential liabilities.
- Can effectively communicate in English and/or Spanish what is to be learned.
Safety Management
- Maintains and promotes safe working conditions in the field at all times
- Wears and maintains required PPE at all times as per local, state, federal, and OSHA laws.
- Ensures and maintains secure storage of all products and work areas by local, state, federal and OSHA laws.
Brand Compliance
- Maintains clean, neat and professional image of service vehicle & equipment
Equipment Management
- Ensures all assigned equipment, tools, safety items, vehicles & trailers or other items are maintained in proper working order by following proper maintenance and inventory schedules.
- Is accountable for neglect and abuse of assigned equipment
- Maintains and secures equipment to include the functionality, storage and cleanliness; operates all specialty equipment used in the field under manufacturer's and Owner's directions.
Quality Control/Scheduling
- QUALITY CONTROL

- Maintain client satisfaction (internal and external) to ensure jobs are renewed.
- Ensures that all disturbed areas for trenching or digging are repaired back to original site specifications
- IRRIGATION

- Monitors all irrigation controllers.
- Has zero loss of plant material due to poor controller monitoring.
- Knows the location of all water meters and backflow shut-off devices for each job site.
- Keeps owner/manager aware irrigation repairs needed.
Field Operations
- Test and run and inspect each system and record notes of the system on the Irrigation Service Request form.
- Set controllers according to contractual obligations always adhering to a water-wise approach.
- Make necessary adjustments such as adjusting Irrigation patterns, dates, times, and frequencies on timer clock/controller.
- Make necessary repairs such as breaks in the line, bad heads, nozzles, valves, wiring, etc.
- Record all work including hours spent, materials used and recommendation if renovations are required.
- Locates existing backflows, controllers, zones and valves and prepares zone charts/diagrams/legends for the systems
- Can work independently in the absence of supervision
- Can remain flexible for working with a variety of tasks daily
- Can remain on-call to respond to emergency situations.
Office and Administration
- Able to read and write English and follow written and oral instruction.
- Can organize and implement work schedule.
- Responsible for completing all require forms and following outlined procedures, both of which may change from time to time
- Keeping up with current industry products and equipment
- Follow current local, state and federal irrigation regulations and licensing

Spray Technician FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
The Spray Technician is responsible for all phases of the management of truck operations under their control. They must keep the Owner, Operations Manager or Production Manager informed of all developments in operations, training and planning. May supervise crew members and direct the use of equipment and materials in completing work assigned.
Major Job Responsibilities
Client Management
- Professionally represents U.S. Lawns at all times.
- Able to respond properly to the client and follow up to make sure their needs have been completed to their satisfaction.
- Able to recognize when they do not have the answer for the client and let them know they will find out or get the Owner/Manager involved.
- Keeps the Owner/Manager aware of all client concerns and communication on the job site.
- Maintains positive, responsive and flexible attitude to all clients.
- Inspects site and advises client of potential liabilities. Notifies on site client with advance notice of any applications to ensures rounds do not interfere with client’s business operations.
- Has the ability and knowledge to communicate with the client on the product(s) being applied.
Safety Management
- Maintains and promotes safe working conditions in the field at all times
- Wears and maintains required PPE at all times as per the control product label
- Have zero preventable accidents due to not following the company safety rules.
- Participates and may present safety tailgate meetings weekly with the crew.

- IRRIGATION
- Knows the location of all irrigation control boxes for each job site.
- Keeps owner/manager aware irrigation repairs needed.
Field Operations
- Administer fertilization, pre-emergent herbicide, post-emergent herbicide, pest and disease control products according to company contractual obligations always adhering to the label and specific guidelines recommended for the best results.
- Sets-up and operates hand and power spray equipment to spray, dust, and/or spread various control products and other designated materials including pesticides, herbicides, soil sterilants, fertilizers, seeds, and specified soil amendments.
Office and Administration
- Able to read and write English and follow written and oral instruction.

- Remove weeds from sidewalks, curb lines, and mulch beds.
